Lionel Messi’s sensational move to Paris Saint-Germain is now a “done deal”, according to reports in France and the player could even have his medical tonight or tomorrow. Negotiations with the Ligue 1 giants have moved quickly since Thursday when Barcelona confirmed in a statement that Messi was set to leave the club.
A new contract was agreed but Barcelona have struggled to facilitate the finalisation of the contract due to La Liga’s salary cap.
Now PSG are understood to have pounced having started talks earlier this week.
It’s understood Messi reached out to his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino to see if a deal was possible.
PSG are expected to offer Messi a two-year contract with the option of a third.

Should the deal be completed, it means PSG have now signed Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Gini Wijnaldum on free transfers.
The club are still yet to conquer Europe though but with Messi, PSG will be optimistic they can now win their first-ever Champions League trophy.
